From October 5th-9th and each Wednesday during the month of October, the staff at June N. Jenkins Women's Shelter and members of our community will be wearing our little black dresses to raise awareness of domestic violence in our community. Participants will raise awareness in regards to the limits victims of domestic violence often face, including lack of resources, options, and work opportunities, among others.
The "Little Black Dress Campaign" is designed to inform our community of the hardships victims face, and to inform victims of the services June N. Jenkins Women's Shelter can offer. With your participation, we can raise awareness and prevent domestic violence, not only in DeRidder and Leesville, but throughout Louisiana and the United States.
If you would like to participate, please call us at (337)462-1452 or (337)462-1457. We will be supplying pins and flyers to all those interested in participating.
